Royal AM make a despicable playoff U-turn

Royal AM did a backflip on their own home patch when they did not come out for the 3pm kick-off against Chippa United.

Now you see them, now you don’t!

Despite assurances earlier today that they would take to the field, Royal AM did a backflip on their own home patch when they did not come out for the 3pm kick-off against Chippa United.

This after the team bus had reportedly arrived earlier at the venue, adding insult to injury.

The visitors kitted up, as did the match officials, went through the pre-match warm-up and protocols, and the TV crew looked on as the opening and final whistles were sounded.

They were abandoned like a jilted bride.

What a waste of time, money, effort and dignity!

Any sympathy fans might have had for their court campaign has all but dissolved now as they continue to make a laughingstock of the PSL, the GladAfrica Championship sponsors, the promotion playoffs and the game so loved by many.

The PSL previously warned that they would award a 3-0 loss against Royal AM for all fixtures not honoured.
That’s not enough, in my opinion.

They should receive a heavy fine and have so many points deducted for bringing the league in disrepute that they end up being relegated.

We’ll see if the punishment fits the crime, but knowing the wishy-washy PSL, don’t hold your breath.
