WATCH: No fatalities in Richards Bay head-on truck collision

An accident involving a City of uMhlathuze municipal refuse truck and another transporting rock and sand collided on the John Ross Highway

An accident involving a City of uMhlathuze municipal refuse truck and another transporting rock and sand collided on the John Ross Highway earlier today (Friday).

The accident caused debris to be scattered for meters on the road in the vicinity of the Mondi intersection.

According to City of uMhlathuze spokesperson Mdu Ncalane who was quickly on scene, no fatalities were reported.

However, paramedics attending to the injured, reported critical injuries. Traffic is congested and motorists are urged to use alternate routes entering and leaving Richards Bay while the accident clean-up operation is under way.
