Family, friends and local surfers paid tribute to the late Mark Trollip on Friday at a memorial service at Pelican Island

FAMILY, friends and local surfers paid tribute to the late Mark Trollip on Friday at a memorial service at Pelican Island.

A beautiful memorial display made up of palm leaves, flowers and a picture of Mark surfing was the centrepiece at the gathering.

Mourners stood in a circle some distance apart with masks on, to follow Covid-19 protocols, under the watchful eye of two SAPS members.

After the service, the surfers conducted the customary paddle-out and joined hands in a circle in the sea to say their final goodbyes to Mark.

Mark was well loved and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the surfing community at large.
