WATCH: eSikhaleni protesters block N2 on-ramp

The protesters were on their way home from the uMhlathuze municipal offices in Richards Bay where they raised the issue of being without electricity for two weeks.

EMPANGENI police were kept on the run, dealing with eSikhaleni protesters who blockaded the on-ramp to the N2 from the John Ross earlier today (Wednesday).

On their return they vented their frustrations by blocking the John Ross at the Eco Junction intersection with rubble, and tearing off the road barrier and laying it across the road.

Motorists struggled to get through.

When police arrived to disperse them, the protesters ran into the gumtree plantation and disappeared.
