This as the province plans to roll out the drive-through campaign in various districts.
The ‘pop-up’ vaccination site at the sports complex will now allow community members to walk in to get their jabs, while others will still be able to be vaccinated in the comfort of their cars.
‘The drive-through vaccination site minimises personal interaction and offers ease of access to the vaccine.
‘This site will help ramp up the vaccination numbers so our country can soon reach population immunity and drive our economic recovery,’ said uMhlathuze communications manager Mdu Ncalane.
At the launch, Premier Zikalala will be joined by MEC for Health Nomagugu Simelane, and city officials.
