Pedestrian knocked down on Empangeni main road

The pedestrian and one taxi passenger suffered injuries

A PEDESTRIAN was knocked down by a minibus taxi while crossing the road at the Turnbull Street/Main Road intersection in Empangeni earlier today (Monday).

The pedestrian suffered a fractured leg, and, owing to the impact of the collision, one of the taxi passengers suffered minor injuries.

Both were treated by paramedics before being transported to hospital for further medical attention.

Police reports indicate that the pedestrian was walking from the civic centre when he was knocked down.

All emergency and law enforcement services attended the scene, and a case of reckless driving was registered for investigation at Empangeni SAPS.
