The roll-out of Vooma Vaccination comes as the government attempts to reach its 70% vaccination target by the end of the year. Just over halfway, South Africa must administer 16 million more vaccinations by the end of December to reach this target.
As of Friday morning, total vaccinations administered were 17 505 358.
‘As a means to gain momentum, the Vooma Vaccination Weekends campaign will kick off this weekend, to encourage more South Africans to get their jab, especially those who cannot commute to the usual vaccination sites on weekdays,’ said Ramaphosa.
Sites will be open throughout the weekend starting today (Friday). Visit www.sacoronavirus.co.za/vooma-vaccination-weekend to find your nearest vaccination site.
