WATCH: Richards Bay waterfront raid leads to 13 arrests

This comes after previous reports of some establishments disregarding the curfew.

A COMBINED force of Richards Bay SAPS, the CPF and various security companies patrolled the greater area on Saturday, culminating in a raid at Tuzi Gazi Waterfront to catch those not abiding by curfew restrictions.

This comes after previous reports of some establishments disregarding the curfew.

Thirteen arrests were made, with charges ranging from contravention of the Disaster Management Act relating to the sale of alcohol past curfew deadline, and drinking in public. Those charged appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court, but are yet to receive a remand date.
