Denmark is the best country to raise a child – survey
Scandanavian countires took the top ranking for best countries to be parents in

A recent study by Compare the Market has revealed the best countries in the world to be a mom or a dad.
The study focused on the monetary value and incentives offered by governments of the respective countries, that create a more conducive and less taxing environment to be a parent.

The study was conducted across 38 countries where family benefits and paid parental leave incentives were compared.
Denmark has the best monetary benefits for parents since 3.41% of the country’s GDP is dedicated to financial support for parents.
According to Compare the Market’s statement, Danish families receive government assistance.
‘Many Danish families receive up to two forms of child financial assistance from the child’s birth to when the child is 18.
‘Single parents are also able to apply for a further child allowance to help with costs,’ read the statement.
Sweden and Luxembourg follow closely behind, with non-permanent residents also receiving parental benefits from the government.
Also taken into account was parental paid leave incentives.
‘Estonia tops the charts for the most paid annual leave available for parents, with an initial 20 weeks paid maternity leave available for mothers.
‘The parental leave can begin up to two months before the estimated delivery date, with fathers able to get two weeks paid leave after the birth of their child.
‘After the initial leave, one parent can take an additional 62 weeks leave from the end of the maternity leave at full compensation, based on the average of their pay rates,’ said the statement.
Hungary and Lithuania are next, with over 158 days of maternity leave awarded to parents.
Northern European countries appear to be the best option for parents worldwide.
