WATCH: Road safety highlighted in City of uMhlathuze
City leadership called on motorists to adhere to the rule of law or face the consequences
THE John Ross highway near the eSikhaleni intersection was the scene of a mass prayer event on Friday as City of uMhlathuze leadership along with representatives of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (Aarto).
On the agenda was calling on God for divine intervention in curbing road traffic accidents and facilities, and appealing to motorists to adhere to the rule of law.

‘We live only once, and we lose too many people on the roads every year,’ said City of uMhlathuze Mayor Xolani Ngwezi.
He urged traffic officers to arrest those who contravene road rules, and spoke about the Safer Cities concept.
