The decision to close the campuses followed violent protest action affecting the Steve Biko, Ritson, ML Sultan and City campuses last Thursday.
‘Saps has been notified of the latest court order. After evaluating the risks and taking into account the new High Court interim order, DUT will reopen the four Durban campuses that were temporarily closed last week,’ said Simangele Zuma, the institute’s media officer.
‘The university appreciates the patience and understanding displayed by staff and students during this unsettling time.
‘DUT reminds the university community to mask up when on campus and get fully vaccinated against Covid-19.’
