‘I want to remind all men within the Saps in and around uMkhanyakude that Men for Change is meant for them. With this programme, we want to support each other to reduce misunderstandings in our families and the work environment.

Police officers enjoyed the gathering

‘Most of them grew up in families engulfed with gender-based violence and they have never had the opportunity to heal. So it is imperative for us as men to come together and discuss our challenges.

‘We grew up in an environment where it was insisted that men are strong, which causes us to suppress our emotions.

‘That is why we say men must come to this platform with their problems for healing,’ he said.

uMkhanyakude Cluster police members enjoyed stress relieving soccer games and a braai at the Hluhluwe stadium in the run-up to the Easter weekend at which the chaplain, Warrant Officer Msweli, motivated police members and encouraged them to pray.
