Residents said a water tanker had, for months on end, not come to fill up communal tanks.

Mkhwanazi explained that all but one of the five boreholes were serviced on Friday.

This after he had contacted newly-elected uMkhanyakude District Municipality deputy Mayor Killer Mkhwanazi, who is also chair of the portfolio committee on technical services.

Also Induna of the area, Killer Mkhwanazi said the remaining non-functioning borehole would soon be fixed.

‘The truth is, we want to see people getting the services they need regardless of politics or who is in power,’ Mkhwanazi said.
