2022 Workers’ Parliament

The KZN Legislature’s annual Workers’ Parliament will be held virtually on 27 and 28 May

As the country celebrates Workers’ Month, the Speaker of KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Hon Nontembeko Boyce, invites all workers in KwaZulu-Natal to take part virtually (through various digital media platforms) in the Legislature’s annual Workers’ Parliament to be held as follows:

  • Dates : 27 to 28 May 2022
  • Time : 10h00
  • Venue : Kwa Hlanganani Hall, King Cetshwayo Municipality, Esikhaleni

Under the theme ‘Uniting Workers to Defend Collective Bargaining and Jobs Whilst Advancing Improved Labour Laws’, workers from the three major federations in the province, namely Cosatu, Nactu and Fedusa, will deliberate and ultimately adopt a set of resolutions that will be forwarded to relevant committees of the Legislature for further consideration and processing.

Workers’ Parliament is one of the Legislature’s public participation programmes, which allows the Legislature to involve various sectors of society in matters of governance in the province.

Workers are invited to participate by asking questions and sending their queries through the following media platforms:

  1. KZNTV channel 261 on DSTV
  2. Icora FM
  3. North Coast radio
  4. Rise FM
  5. East Coast radio and Vuma FM
