The Speaker of KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Honourable Nontembeko N Boyce (MPL), invites youth who live in and around the district to be part of the Youth Parliamentary sitting.

The sitting is scheduled as follows:

  • Date: 16-17 June 2022
  • Venue: Inkosi Mzondeni Hall in Ward 6, Mtubatuba Municipality.
  • Time: 9am

Youth Parliament is made up of youth delegates who come from all political parties that are represented in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature. Members of the Provincial Executive will also attend the Sitting to engage young people on issues that are of interest to the youth of KwaZulu-Natal and youth in general.

The Constitution of the Republic places an obligation on the Provincial Legislature to involve all sectors of society in the governance of the province and to give them a platform to raise issues that affect them. This year’s sitting will be guided by Commissions that will deliberate on youth development programmes and opportunities for young people under the theme: ‘PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD AND RESILIENCE OF YOUNG PEOPLE FOR BETTER TOMORROW’.
