Plans to speed up pothole repairs in all districts.

A total of 55 trucks are set to be deployed across KZN to fast-track pothole repairs in all districts.

Twenty-two were unveiled by KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube on Tuesday while launching Transport Month at KwaDinabakubo sport field in Molweni, under eThekwini Metro.

These trucks, which are fitted with the latest pothole patching technology, will be distributed to all Department of Transport district offices.

Part of the roll-out of the campaign, ‘S’thesha Waya Waya’, includes the issue of appointment letters to more than 270 road workers and engineering employees.

The initiative aims to end unemployment, poverty and inequality through the creation of 17 000 jobs.
