A curriculum of biblical excellence

Empangeni Christian School is a finalist in the Best Private School category of the Best of Zululand Readers' Choice Awards

A finalist in the Best Private School category of the Best of Zululand Readers’ Choice Awards, Empangeni Christian School is excited and honoured to have been selected as one of the best in the region.

Empangeni Christian School (ECS) is a private independent Christian school that serves the community by educating children for life using biblical principles. The school opened its doors in 1988 and teaches the South African CAPS Curriculum with a biblical world view. ECS adopted the motto, “Knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom”, as its school badge and has used it as a strategy to produce all-round members of society without neglecting the spiritual aspect of education.

Over the years, the school has, as a result, successfully served the uMhlathuze community with its curriculum of biblical excellence, training up children with Godly character to realise their full potential through the development of spiritual, intellectual and physical capacities to prepare them for responsible citizenship with a willingness to serve God in the community, the nation and the world.

Empangeni Christian School

Empangeni Christian School is located at 21 Louis Botha Avenue and accommodates pupils from Grade RR to Grade 7. Classes have approximately 23 learners. As part of its activities, the academic institution provides top level experience for its pupils through various sports, such as playball, cricket, netball, soccer and athletics.

This Best of Zululand nomination comes as no surprise as what sets the school apart from the rest are its small classes, biblically integrated curriculum, and offering of affordable private education in the local community. Consequently, ECS alumni speak proudly and fondly of their time at the school, with many having achieved leadership positions in their respective high schools, and others employed in prominent careers all over the world. The school recognises its nomination as an assertion of commitment by its staff members, who always do their best, and the stakeholders who go the extra mile.

“A huge thank you to all who support ECS. We are truly honoured to be nominated and hope to continue providing quality, affordable Christian education,” said Maureen Ras, Chief  Executive Officer.
