As advised by Eskom on Monday, to allow safe passage for the abnormal load, electricity interruptions will be experienced in certain areas south of Empangeni.

This is owing to low-hanging cables and traffic lights to which power needs to be cut so the truck can get through.
Areas to be affected are Dlangezwa, Mtunzini, Gingindlovu, Mangethe, eNyoni, Edokodweni and Lambothi.
“The actual timeline per area cannot be confirmed, however, power will be restored as soon as the vehicle passes,” said Eskom in a statement on Monday.
The truck left Ceramic Curve in Alton mid-morning, and is making its slow way to Mandeni.
Route:
The truck will leave SBS Tanks in Ceramic Curve, Alton, and use the John Ross highway towards the N2.
It will head south on the N2 until the eSikhaleni/Unizulu off-ramp where it will use the bridge to cross the N2, and head south on the R102 towards Gingindlovu, and ultimately Mandeni.
It will enter Sappi via Long Street.
Motorists are urged to make way for this abnormal load, and take extra precaution on the roads.
