The premier will lead the Provincial Transport Day programme as part of promoting safe

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube will on Tuesday pay a visit to His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini in Ulundi to formally introduce Members of the Executive Council (MECs) and to get the King’s guidance on various pertinent matters in the province.

Prior to this visit, the premier will lead the Provincial Transport Day programme as part of promoting safe, efficient and reliable transport.

“This day will also be utilised to promote the use of public transport in order to reduce traffic congestion on our roads, thereby lessening our country’s carbon footprint,” said Dube-Ncube.

As part of this campaign, Premier Dube-Ncube and MECs will park their official vehicles and travel in public transport within various routes in the Ulundi Local Municipality.

This will enable the Premier and MECs to interact with commuters to hear their challenges first-hand including customer care provided by public transport operators.

They will also conduct a road safety activation at the Ulundi Taxi Rank and participate in a multi-disciplinary law enforcement operation.
