Mtubatuba fashion store robbed on Black Friday

The armed robbery and an attempted robbery occurred back-to-back

MTUBATUBA SAPS had their hands full on Friday afternoon after a popular fashion retail store at Mtuba Mall was robbed at gunpoint, while an attempted robbery at a pharmacy in town was unsuccessful.

Police spokesperson Captain Justice Hlabisa said the two incidents occurred back-to-back.

“As you are calling me, we have just come from the mall and are responding to the attempted robbery at the pharmacy,” said Hlabisa.

He said no one was injured during the armed robbery at the mall, where four armed suspects allegedly got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

At the time, Hlabisa said the police would look at the CCTV footage from both stores to try and identify the suspects.
