WATCH: Vehicle stuck in the sand on Richards Bay beach

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning on Pelican Island

JUST as Richards Bay residents thought the area had made it through the festive season without a vehicle getting stuck in the sand on the beach, one unlucky motorist did exactly that this morning (Wednesday).

This, despite the continued ban on beach driving within the City of uMhlathuze.

The incident occurred at about 11am on Pelican Island.

A video posted on social media by City of uMhlathuze Ward 3 Councillor Henning de Wet shows a bakkie making numerous attempts to pull the SUV out of the sand and away from the water’s edge.
