eSikhaleni fire victims in need for start of school year
The family has lost everything for the second time in six years
“GOD please help us, again!”
This was the desperate plea from Lindeni Jele (53), a grandmother to seven who lost everything in a house fire in December.

With the start of the school year, she’s now struggling to get uniforms and birth certificates for her grandchildren.
This was the second time in six years that the family has been victim to fires, after their home was razed in 2017.
“It’s all in the hands of God now because I can’t do this by myself. I don’t know what to do and how I will be able to make sure they all go back to school,” said Jele.
“It’s been a tough time for myself and the family but I know God will not forsake us. No matter how hard things get, I know He will be with us all the time.”
The family had to watch helplessly as their home was reduced to ashes, once again. They were left with only the clothes on their backs – with no food or shelter.
“I was able to rebuild when I lost my house and everything years ago, and as tough as it is now, I know God will come through for my family.
“It’s hard to lose all you have twice, but now the focus is to make sure my grandchildren are able to go back to school and for them to have a great future,” cried Jele.
Since publishing the first article, compassionate residents have opened their hearts to help them rebuild their lives.
While donations, including R2000 from Boxer Empangeni, ensured they had a good Christmas, more is needed for the family to rebuild their lives.
The Jele family is currently living in a small structure in their yard, and hoping leaders and caring Zululanders will be able to assist.
Anyone who is willing to make a donation can contact the family on 072 8109858.
