Cross-border crime ‘mastermind’ nabbed

The suspect was at the top of the 'most wanted' list.

Intensive law enforcement operations led to the bringing down of a ‘most wanted’ hijacking ‘kingpin’ in Manguzi last week.

This after a spate of hijackings in the area and the burning of several vehicles, both foreign-licensed and local.

Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the suspect was at the top of the ‘most wanted’ list.

Umkhanyakude District Mayor Siphile Mdaka last week applauded the more than 100 police officers recently deployed to northern KZN to deal with the scourge of vehicle theft and cross-border crime in the area, saying since this deployment there has been an improvement in the rate of crime.
