Weather warning for the KZN coast

Warning issued along the coast to the south of St Lucia and the adjacent interior

Disruptive rains which could lead to flooding in low-lying areas is expected along the coast to the south of St Lucia and the adjacent interior.

This yellow level 2 warning was issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) on Monday.

It comes as most parts of the region have been experiencing heavy rain since Sunday evening and into this morning (Monday).

“KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy and cool, but cold in the west. Isolated showers and rain are expected, but scattered along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh, southerly to south-westerly,” the SAWS statement reads.

The wet weather conditions are expected to persist into Monday evening.
