WATCH: Tipper truck obstructs road in Empangeni suburb

The intersection at President Swart and Apollo avenues in Empangeni was completely closed to traffic earlier this morning (Tuesday) after a tipper truck blocked the road, in an apparent attempt to conduct a U-turn.

According to the driver, he was looking for a nearby supermarket to buy himself something to eat after he had off-loaded his cargo at Transnet.

He said he was told by a local traffic officer that no heavy vehicles were allowed where he was driving and he had to make a U-turn.
