Several suspects arrested at Empangeni hot spots

The KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate was part of the district operation

King Cetshwayo District SAPS arrested 20 suspects during a multi-disciplinary operation in high-crime areas around Empangeni.

District commissioner major general Sipho Ngubane said a large number were for arrested for drunk driving, as well as arrests of illegal immigrants, alcohol, and counterfeit CDs.

“The KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate was part of the district operation.

This resulted in 14 traffic fines issued at a roadblock where105 vehicles were stopped. Because we had other units, 250 people were searched during the operation,” said Ngubane.
