Resources boost GBV fight
RCO is an eShowe-based NPO located at Mbongolwane SAPS Victim Friendly Centre
The Uthungulu Community Foundation’s (UCF) ongoing contributions to the Rainbow Circle Organisation (RCO) has been instrumental in supporting victims of domestic violence, abuse, and crime.
RCO is an eShowe-based NPO located at Mbongolwane SAPS Victim Friendly Centre.
It was established in 2003 by Centre Manager Peggy Strachan to primarily deal with the ever-increasing incidents of violence against women and children.
UCF, which has been supporting the organisation for eight years, donated two laptops desperately needed by RCO.
“The foundation’s fight against the scourge of GBV has connected us with RCO, providing a deeper understanding of such cases within uMlalazi Municipality and South Africa,” said UCF CEO Mbali Zulu.
Strachan said a large portion of RCO’s work is rural community-based education on GBV and other social ills against the most vulnerable sector.
“On behalf of RCO and the communities in which we work, we thank UCF for their continued support,” said Strachan.
She said the organisation’s needs include establishing a shelter for abused women and children, and securing a vehicle to attend GBV cases and awareness campaigns.
For anyone potentially requiring RCO’s services can contact the centre on 083 5352114 or 035 4734203.
