EMERGENCY services are still on the scene of a head-on collision that occurred on the N2 near Zinkwazi earlier this morning (Monday).

The accident occurred shortly before 8am, and IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Search & Rescue responded to the call-out.

Two occupants were entrapped in one vehicle and were extricated by KwaDukuza Fire Department.

One of the occupants succumbed to their injuries, while the second was critically injured, and treated on scene by IPSS advanced life support paramedics.

The driver of the second vehicle escaped with moderate injuries.
