Talent championships in Richards Bay

All national winners will be given the opportunity to represent South Africa in the USA

Richards Bay arts and drama coach Lynn Naidoo has been appointed as the Zululand South African Championships of Performing Arts (Sacopa) agent and talent scout.

Sacopa is the official national competition for both novice and experienced performers, and includes acting, dance, instrumental, modelling, and a variety acts and vocals, among others.

Involved in speech and drama for the last 11 years, Lynn is the owner of Dudes & Divas school of drama.

Her students have excelled at provincial and national level competitions, talent shows, public speaking competitions and eisteddfods.

She is also a singer and master of ceremonies, having performed at numerous events across KZN.

She is gearing up to host the Sacopa Regional Championships at Grantleigh Schools on Saturday from 9am, and urges locals to enter.

“If you or your child has a talent, this is the stage for you. Anyone from the age of five can enter. Dance groups are also welcome,” she said.

“You are never too old to realise your dreams. Come and join us, and let us see you shine on stage. Regional winners will advance to nationals, which will be held in Rustenberg in September.

“All national winners will be given the opportunity to represent South Africa in the USA next year.”

To enter, visit www.sacopa.co.za and follow the prompts.

For enquiries, call Donna da Costa on 082 3333321 or Lynn on 073 4907643.
