Another fuel price increase on the cards

The price of diesel is expected to increase again in August

The Automobile Association (AA) is concerned with rising diesel prices that directly impact consumers through higher prices at the pumps.

This as diesel is a major input cost in a number of sectors.

This comes as the price of diesel is expected to increase again in August.

Based on unaudited mid-month fuel data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF), the AA predicts an increase of around 48 cents per litre for diesel and seven cents per litre for petrol.

“Illuminating paraffin is also showing an increase – of around 47 cents per litre,” said the AA.

“At this stage of the month, the numbers are more reflective of the way the fuel prices are likely to go when they are adjusted at month-end.

“The current trajectory indicates that all fuel will be more expensive in August, with the quantum of the increases most probably being higher than the current data indicates.”
