IFP founder and Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch passes away

The Zululand Observer joins the nation in mourning the passing of founder and President Emeritus of the IFP and Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch and Nation Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

The sad news of Buthelezi’s passing was announced by his family this morning (Saturday), saying he ‘quietly and painlessly slipped into eternity in the early hours of this morning’.

“We realise this loss will be deeply felt by many and that many will wish to express their condolences and pay their respects in the days ahead.

“The family will engage His Majesty the king and the royal family, his excellency the president, the Buthelezi clan, and the leadership of the IFP as the necessary funeral arrangements are made.”

The family said further details would be announced in due course.

“We thank the nation for the immense support that has been shown towards our family in the last few weeks, and give thanks for the prayers that will surely sustain us now.”
