Stakeholders appreciated at last community meeting

Mlungwana outlined work done on road maintenance, updates from Eskom, local job creation initiatives, school development

There was entertainment and thanks on Sunday as community-minded individuals were awarded certificates of appreciation at the last Khula Village community meeting of 2023.

Ward councillor Ntokozo Mlungwana said these certificates were to ‘encourage stakeholders who assist us during difficult times’ with the meeting an opportunity to give residents feedback on what his office had done in the year.

Among those awarded was former ward councillor Siyabonga Khumalo, who expressed his gratitude.

In his report, Mlungwana outlined work done on road maintenance, updates from Eskom, local job creation initiatives, school development, among other pertinent issues.

A fence for a residential food garden was donated, as well as soccer kits for a team of elderly women who have taken up the sport to stay fit.

Mlungwana said some of these soccer players were also assisted by Younger Aesthetics on Friday, with donations of detoxing and immune boosters.

Entertainment included traditional dance by local artists to showcase the region’s rich talent.
