Making computer whizzes out of pupils

Pupils in Grades 8 to 12 are invited to participate in the computer skills session

Crossroads Teen Centre in Empangeni is hosting a basic computer skills session for grades 8 to 12 next week.

The centre’s manager, Hope Mtshali said this forms part of the centre’s Computerwhizz programme, with compulsory registration closing on Thursday, 23 November and the course starting on Monday, 27 November.

“It’s a basic computer skills programme we’re running as a result of realising that many leaders don’t have basic skills. Many know how to use a phone but not a computer,” said Mtshali.

“They will learn the basics of useful computer software, including Microsoft and PowerPoint. The main aim is to get pupils skilled in using computers for things like school research and assignments,” added Mtshali.

She added that this was a great way to obtain a new skill that will be useful throughout their lives, after which a certificate of completion is presented.

To register, contact Hope Mtshali on 068 2615625.
