Stolen car recovered in eSikhaleni with parts missing

Vehicle stolen during house robbery outside Richards Bay recovered the same night partially stripped

A VEHICLE, which was reportedly stolen during a house robbery in Mzingazi on Friday, was located in eSikhaleni partially stripped.

Police recovered the silver-grey VW Polo in the Mzingwenya area on the same night it was stolen. It had been abandoned in the Maholoholo forest.

According to police reports, the theft of the vehicle was reported to radio control Empangeni, which immediately circulated information of the stolen car.

Once the vehicle was located by the tracking company, police were called to the scene.

According to King Cetshwayo Cluster spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase, the car was found to be missing some of its parts.

“The smart key was in the ignition, and three wheels and the spare were removed. The vehicle’s battery was also stolen,” said Shangase.

A case of robbery is under investigation, while police are on the manhunt for the perpetrators.
