Four arrested in eSikhaleni crackdown

Liquor confiscated, suspects arrested in police operation

Four suspects were arrested in eSikhaleni during a police operation last weekend.

The King Cetshwayo Project Team unit arrested two suspects for illegally selling alcohol.

Another was found in possession of house break-in implements, while the fourth was found in possession of a homemade knife.

King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase said seven liquor outlets were searched.

“About 102 people and 31 vehicles were stopped and searched. Two liquor outlets were trading without licences, and two suspects were arrested. Alcohol was confiscated from both establishments.

“At a third outlet in the Port Durnford area, police found a huge volume of abandoned alcohol, which was confiscated.”

Shangase said the arrested suspects were due to appear at eSikhawini Magistrate’s Court soon.
