20 years for ‘tuckshop robber’

The perpetrator was handed a 20-year sentence by the Richards Bay Magistrate's Court

A perpetrator who robbed a tuckshop in Mzingazi was handed a 20-year sentence by the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court earlier this month.

Accused number two Mthokozisi Innocent Magwaza (31) was found guilty of robbing Snes Tuckshop near Khondweni reserve on 7 January 2023 while he was out on parole for a previous crime.

He went into the shop and held the employees at gunpoint before taking a substantial amount of cash from the establishment. It is believed that two suspects waited outside to keep watch.

Accused number one Simiso Msisi Ngema (35) was found not guilty.
