Hot week ahead for Zululanders

Last gasp for summer sees 'toasty Tuesday'

The dreaded February might be over, but the heat and humidity certainly are not – not for this week, anyway.

The Zululand region is in for a hot Monday today and excruciating Tuesday, pinning Richards Bay at 40 degrees Celsius, Empangeni at 37, 39 for Pongola, a ‘mild’ 33 for Mtubatuba, and a manageable 34 for eShowe.

Wednesday will take a quick dip, dropping down to the 20s, but hitting the low 30s for some areas again on Wednesday.

A mid-30s Friday will give way to a cool and, in places, wet Saturday, with temperatures rising again on Sunday.

Dress for the temperatures, keep hydrated on hot days, and ensure your pets are hydrated and have sufficient shade to keep them from suffering from heat exhaustion.
