Richards Bay endurance athlete to run 520km for 520 pairs of school shoes

Help Richards Bay endurance runner Nontu Mgabhi reach her goal of 520 pairs of school shoes for underprivileged pupils

Going the distance for a worthy cause, Nontuthuko ‘Nontu’ Mgabhi will once again be putting her body to the test.

The Richards Bay philanthropist and endurance runner is set to compete in the 520km ultramarathon The Track Namibia to raise funds for 520 pairs of school shoes.

Determined to make a difference in the lives of KZN’s children, Nontu said, “I believe in giving back. I am grateful that I am able to give back through my passion: a love of running, travel and nature.

“It is wonderful to live a life that is authentic with impact.

“To prepare for these races, although challenging, is not a chore for me – it is a privilege to get to do this.”
