Weather warning: Disruptive rain expected in northern KZN

SA Weather Service issues level 5 warning for disruptive rain over KZN's far north, with a level 2 warning further south

ZULULANDERS can expect heavy rain tomorrow (Sunday) as the SA Weather Service (SAWS) issued a level 5 warning for disruptive rains for the far north of the region and level 2 further south.

uMhlathuze, Ulundi and Mthonjaneni are under the level 2 warning, in place from 8am to 11pm on Sunday, while Hlabisa, Hluhluwe, Jozini, Mtubatuba, Nongoma, Pongola and uMhlabuyalingana are covered in the level 5 warning, applicable for the same time duration.

According to SAWS, the wet weather is owing to a strong high pressure system centred south of Madagascar, bringing warm, moist air over northeastern KZN.
