Calling all Zululand bonsai enthusiasts!
Spend a day with the Zululand Bonsai Society to learn more about this living art form
In celebration of World Bonsai Day, the Zululand Bonsai Society is holding an open day on Saturday, 11 May.
Bonsai enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and welcome to bring their trees along, and to visit the club.
World Bonsai Day was created to pursue the ideal of world peace through bonsai, and celebrates the power of bonsai to unite people of different backgrounds in peace and friendship.
It also celebrates the ability of bonsai to help people engage with the natural environment.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the morning and afternoon workshops.
Line-up
Fertilizing bonsai trees: 10.15am.
Demonstration on wiring bonsai: 2.15pm.
In the spirit of sharing bonsai and engaging with bonsai friends, club members will be on hand to advise the public on their trees.
Tree advice will take place between 10am and 12 noon, and again in the afternoon between 2pm and 4pm.
