Elections 2024: Smooth start to voting in Empangeni

Smooth start to election week as Special voting gets underway

Election week got off to a smooth start in Empangeni on Monday when those registered for special voting cast their ballots.

Some 10 817 voters had registered for special voting on Monday and Tuesday.

With 107 wards and 563 voting stations, King Cetshwayo District totalled 503 395 registered voters.

City of uMhlathuze’s total voter tally is 206 073, uMlalazi 111 422, uMfolozi 76 744, Nkandla 62 149 and Mthonjaneni 47 007.

At a media briefing on Friday, top cop in King Cetshwayo District, Major General Sipho Ngubane said the police were ready for any eventuality during the elections.
