Knife-wielding mentally ill patient stabs Ngwelezana hospital staff

Two medical staff at Ngwelezana Hospital narrowly escaped death when a violent mentally ill patient chased them allegedly with a knife, stabbing a doctor and a nurse inside a consultation room.

The incident occurred at the hospital’s Emergency Unit on Wednesday. The doctor and nurse received emergency care.
