Thembela Venue was the perfect place for Zululand’s most prestigious tea party, Dice’s 10th Tea on the Terrace.
The Dice (Do I Care Enough?) annual fundraiser was celebrated by 400 guests on Saturday, 7 September, with thousands of funds raised for cancer patients and other Dice projects.
Guest speaker Christina Reddy, the first female executive director on the Amazon Data Services Board in South Africa, was guest speaker and shared her key success factors.
Top-notch entertainment was provided by The Leading Ladies, Dave Starke, Empangeni High school’s Naledi Xulu with accompanist Richard Makwea, and Arboretum Primary’s Siyadlala Marimba band.
The table décor blew everyone away, while the infectious spirit of uMfolozi Casino’s ‘Formula 1 winning team’ was awarded first prize and the prestigious Ubuntu Floating Trophy.
‘Mexican Feista’ and ‘Woodlands Butterfly’ were runners-up.
There were also amazing raffle giveaways, including an iPad and a R25 000 prize for a two-night stay at Bonamanzi Game Reserve.
Tarryn Bell, founder of Butterfly Palliative Home in Ingwavuma, which was a beneficiary of last year’s Tea on the Terrace, shared how the contribution helped their cause.
