WATCH: Richards Bay couple dodges Hurricane Milton bullet

Former Zululanders now residing in Florida, USA narrowly escaped disaster from Hurricane Milton

Prayers were answered when a Richards Bay couple living in the town Jupiter, on the west coast of Florida, USA, woke up at first light today (USA time), to find their home and possessions had survived the first onslaught of Hurricane Milton.

However, Jane and Alan Ferraris, residents in Florida for the past nine years, sent the Zululand Observer a video showing just how narrowly they had escaped disaster, after battening down overnight in anticipation of possible catastrophe.

“We’re fine and, as expected, it passed us by further to the north, close to Daytona.

“We did, however, have some very scary tornadoes which touched down in Palm Beach gardens and Jupiter farms, both within five miles of us,” said Jane.

“Thank God – a bullet dodged! So we are fine with howling winds and squalls, and we still have electricity and water.”
