Disruptive rain set to persist along KZN coast

KZN disaster management teams are on high alert as disruptive rains set to persist

After a wet Sunday, disruptive rainfall is expected to persist along the coast and adjacent interior of KwaZulu-Natal, between Port Alfred and Richards Bay this (Monday) morning.

The SA Weather Service has again issued an orange level 6 warning, with residents urged to take necessary precautions as the bad weather conditions could cause localised flooding.

The heavy rains that hit the province on Sunday afternoon have prompted KZN disaster management teams to be on high alert.

KZN Cogta MEC Rev Thulasizwe Buthelezi has assured residents across the province that teams will continue to monitor the ongoing weather conditions.

“Disaster management teams have been deployed to areas that are prone to weather-related incidents,” said Rev Buthelezi.

He further urged motorists to exercise caution on the wet roads as the inclement weather conditions are set to continue until tomorrow (Tuesday).
