Which KZN suburbs have the most desirable lifestyles?

While the Zululand region may not have made the cut, some KwaZulu-Natal suburbs feature in the top 10 most envied lifestyles in South Africa.

A survey of 3 000 South Africans aged 18 – 65 by Top10OnlineCasinos.co.za revealed the top 30 dream lifestyle locations.

Unsurprisingly, Camps Bay, Clifton, Plettenberg Bay, Sandton and Constantia – all in the Western Cape – took the top 5 spots, while Ballito, following closely in sixth place, is the first KZN suburb on the list – credit to its golden beaches and laid-back coastal vibe.

Other KZN locations making the top 30 include: La Lucia (18), Hillcrest (20), uMhlanga (22), Nottingham Road (23) and Shelly Beach (28).

These locations show the popularity of coastal destinations, which combine beachfront living with modern amenities, making them a great choice for buyers avoiding Western Cape’s and Gauteng’s high property prices.

According to the survey, Nottingham Road highlights a trend where lifestyle seekers value serenity and scenic beauty in less urbanised regions.

“As our survey shows, South Africa offers a diverse range of desirable lifestyles, from vibrant coastal neighbourhoods to tranquil retreats,” said a survey spokesperson.

“It’s clear that people value a balance between natural beauty, convenience and a unique sense of place when it comes to their ideal place to live.”
