Meerensee municipal pool drowning

Following up on an earlier report, attempts to resuscitate a child at the Meerensee municipal pool this afternoon were unsuccessful.

The child was sadly declared deceased at the scene.

At the time of receiving the initial report, it was indicated that the child’s age was 10, but subsequent reports received indicate that the child was only 5 years old.

This after a similar incident at the Empangeni pool earlier this month where a child was revived after a near drowning, but remains in a coma.
