Help Richards Bay SPCA pay vet bills
Holiday season brings with it a surge in cases for the SPCA
While festive for most, the holiday season brings with it a surge in cases for the SPCA as animal gifts go unwanted when the novelty wears off, and fireworks see a spike in terrified animals getting lost or injured.
Add to this the summer breeding season when unsterilised dogs and cats, be they pets or feral, give birth to puppies and kittens.
All this sees a surge in the number of animals coming through the SPCA’s gates and, while not always, oftentimes the animals are sick or injured and in desperate need of medical attention.
SPCA inspectors are not vets and therefore cannot diagnose an animal’s symptoms, nor can they operate on, or give any other extensive medical care to injured or sick animals.
With this in mind, Richards Bay SPCA is asking for donations towards their vet bills at Empangeni Vet.
Relying almost entirely on private sponsorship and donations, Richards Bay SPCA cannot handle the vet bills alone, as well as provide food and shelter for the many animals streaming through the gates.
Donations must be paid directly into Empangeni Vet’s bank account, with the following reference: 3654 Donation.
