Donate biscuits and make an impoverished family happy

Annual Gogo’s Boy Christmas Biscuit Drive to spread cheer this holiday season

The season of giving is once again upon us and Zululand Observer senior journalist Wellington Makwakwa aims to spread cheer across the Zululand region with his 5th annual Gogo’s Boy Christmas Biscuit Drive.

He is collecting 1kg and 2kg boxes of biscuits, which will be donated to the many regional households that cannot afford them this Christmas.

The boxes aim to bring a smile to impoverished households, especially those with senior citizens and child-headed homes this festive season.

“This Christmas, I plan to visit about 100 homes to deliver the biscuits and other gifts.

“This programme started some years ago and continues to spread excitement to many. Some of us who can afford biscuits forget that, as much as it is something we can do for ourselves, others need help so they can also have a lovely Christmas.

“Let’s bring hope to those who feel hopeless and restore joy to those in need this Christmas season,” said Wellington Makwakwa.

To make a difference, you can donate 1kg or 2kg boxes of biscuits by dropping them at the Zululand Observer offices in Empangeni.

You can also call 081 0197976 for more information or if you want your biscuits to be collected.
