Lion escapee guided back to game reserve

The lion that escaped from Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP) is now back in the game reserve

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife confirmed today (Wednesday) that the lion that escaped from Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP) was this morning successfully guided back into the game reserve.

Ezemvelo spokesperson Musa Mntambo told the Zululand Observer that the lion was led in through the fence with impala bait.

The animal had been spotted around the Ocilwane area in KwaMthethwa from Saturday and reported to have killed two cows, the carcasses of which were discovered on Monday.
